Public Works Garage
The Madison Public Works Department consist of nine employees that perform a variety of Town Services. The Public Works Department ensures safe, clean streets and sidewalks through street resurfacing/repair, pothole repair, snow removal, loose leaf collection and yard waste removal. Public Works is also responsible for the proper operation of the water distribution system and wastewater collection system and for enforcement of the Town’s Grease Ordinance, Backflow/Cross Connection Ordinance.

Collection of Refuse and Yard Waste
The Public Works Department removes refuse, yard waste and some household items, incidental to normal weekly garbage collection provided that it is placed at the curb and does not exceed the maximum size and length requirements. Refuse, yard waste and household items of such size and/or amount that it constitutes a truck load (equal to or greater than 7 cubic yards) will not be removed until Public Works is contacted at 548-6041 to make arrangements for removal. White goods such as stoves, refrigerators, washers, and like items will only be removed once the property owner signs a consent form and pays a fee of $10.00 to the Finance Department.
